Actress. She was an American film actress of the 1930s. After graduating from high school, she relocated to California and became a secretary at RKO studios. She was offered a screen test for Gregory La Cava's upcoming 1932 film "The Age of Consent," receiving one of the two female lead roles. With that role, the shy, dark-hair beauty's acting career began. The same year, she was selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars, along with future Hollywood legend Ginger Rogers and Gloria Stuart. She made 20 films between 1932 and 1937. She had an uncredited role in the 1943 film "Whistling in Brooklyn." In 1936, she married Oscar recipient writer and director Lewis Foster. The couple had two children before her husband's death in 1974. She remained a widow until her death.
