John was the son of John and Mary Block. On 23 Sep 1934 he married Hermine "Tina" Von Bokern and they had one son, John. He was the retired owner and operator of the H&R Block Income Tax Service center in La Grange, Kentucky. John died at Baptist Hospital East at the age of 72.
