Bernice C. Dassler, 85, village of Cleveland resident, went home to her Lord, Sunday, August 18, 2013, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. She was born, September 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Hugo and Kathryn Lodes Wagner. Bernice graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1945. She continued her education at St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where she received a diploma degree and later she received her Bachelors Degree of Nursing from Milton College. On August 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Eugene Dassler at St. Wendel Catholic Church in Cleveland. The couple resided in Cleveland (Hika), and the marriage was blessed with three children. Eugene passed away May 7, 1984. Bernice was employed by Dr. Robert Keller and by St. Nicholas Hospital from which she retired in 1993. Bernice was a member of the former St. Wendel Church in Cleveland and the present St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community in Newton, Wisconsin. She was an active member of the Christian Woman's Society, the Cleveland VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Cleveland Girl Scouts, as a leader, the Cleveland Senior Citizens Group, Home makers, and a retired member of the American Nurses Assoc. She loved to travel and go fishing, play Sheep Head, Domino's, and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice is survived by two sons, Jerry (Vickie) of De Pere; Larry (Linda) of Cleveland; one daughter, Sandy (Jeff) Stoeckigt of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Greg Stoeckigt of Cleveland; Mike (Jackie) Stoeckigt of Howards Grove; Amy (Brian) Fogarty of Sturgeon Bay; Beth Dassler of Seattle, Washington; Amanda (Sam) Darcy of Neenah; Brad (fiancee, Anna Wiegand) Dassler of Cleveland; six great-grandchildren, Mason and Addison Stoeckigt, Greta, Jackson, Sebastian, and Nicholas Fogarty; two brothers, Ralph (Jane) Wagner of Cleveland, Peter (Mary) Wagner of Silver Cliff; one sister, Teresa (Roger) Mayr of School Hill; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Wagner and Sandy Wagner.Preceding her in death, her husband, Eugene; two brothers, Bobby and Eddie Wagner; two sisters, Rosemary Walton and Catherine Wagner. burial at St. George Catholic Cemetery in Cleveland.
