Actor. Born into a family involved in the film industry for several generations, he was the son of film director Marino Girolami and brother to Enzo known as Enzo G. Castellari. Ennio debuted as an actor at a young age in the film "Fratelli d'Italia" (1952), directed by Fausto Saraceni. Later he acted in many comedies and musicals as well as in dramatic films with directors such as Alberto Lattuada, Giuseppe De Santis and Federico Fellini but during his long film career he participated mainly in films directed by his father and brother, playing in more than seventy films. He will be best remembered for his roles in the "spaghetti western" genre films and for films such as "La spiaggia" (1954), "Le notti di Cabiria" (1956), "La garçonnière" (1960) and "Tenebre" (1982), directed by Dario Argento. Ennio also appeared in some television works, starring in the miniseries "Mio figlio ha 70 anni", "Papa Giovanni-Ioannes XXIII" and into the television series "Il Maresciallo Rocca". He died after a short illness at his home in Rome.
