Mrs. Ada Sutton Bowman, 87, widow of George W. Bowman, former Lebanon grocer who was a Confederate veteran of the Civil War, died Sunday at Our Lady of the Angels Home in Louisville.
Mrs. Bowman was born and reared at Raywick, a daughter of John and Mariah Vowels Sutton, and made her home there until her marriage. She and Mr. Bowman for a number of years operated a store on West Main Street. He died here in 1914 and she, with her son and daughter, later moved to Louisville.
The son, Julius V. Bowman, Louisville, survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. George R. Hutchins, New Haven, and Mrs. J. C. Abell, Elizabethtown, and a grandson, Maj. William B. Fowlkes, Fort Benning, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Brigid Church, Louisville. The body was brought here for burial in St. Augustine Cemetery.
