CALUMET CITY - Spec. 4 Richard J. Schutz, 21, of 551 Forsythe was killed in action July 21 in Vietnam while serving with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Schutz had been in Vietnam since Aug. 21, 1966. He entered the Army in October, 1965. He was a 1963 graduate of Thornton Fractional North High School and prior to entry the service, he was employed by Inland Steel Co. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Schutz; two brothers, Robert of Lovington, N.M., and Spec. 4 Michael stationed with the Army in Munich, Germany; one sister, Nancy, at home; and maternal grandparents, Mrs Martha Nicholson of Hammond and Enoch Harris of Tampa, Fla. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of the body. Nowak Funeral Home, 409 Pulaski Rd., Calumet City, is in charge of arrangements.
