He attended Marion High School until the time he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in Normandy, North France and Rhineland and was a Purple Heart recipient. He attended vocational school in Chicago and retired from Abex Engineering. He was an amateur radio enthusiast (WA8ATS), an accomplished photographer and played the trombone.
He is survived by
his beautiful bride of 67 years, Violet (Sisson) Saiter;
sons, Gregory (Sheila), Michael, Randall (Sue) and Terry;
grandchildren, Wendy (Gary) Bailey, Brent (Fiona) and Rachel Saiter;
great grandchildren, Christopher Bunker, Chelsea and Garrett Bailey, Maia and Sydni Saiter;
great-great grandchild, Samuel Bunker;
brother, James (Lee) Saiter;
sister-in-law, Nellie Gorenflo;
