My great grandmother, Anna May (Gurney) James. Daughter of Charles Walter Gurney, founder of Gurney Seeds. She grew up in Yankton, South Dakota. She married Carey Bird James in 1901 and moved to Illinois to raise her family. A much beloved mother and grandmother.
