SOUTH BEND - Joseph W. McDuffie, 80, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Center for Hospice Care in South Bend. He was born on June 9, 1933 in South Bend. He was employed by the Teamsters Local 364 and was a driver for them for many years. Joseph also had a passion for golfing, gardening, and spending time on his boat. His greatest love was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe never spoke of the war or medals he received. He did mention that he had a few bits of shrapnel imbedded in the back of his legs from exploding grenades, but that was all.
