The funeral of Theodore Obermiller, Jackson millwright, who was whipped to death yesterday morning when caught on a drive shaft in a mill at Burfordville, probably will not be held in Jackson till Monday, according to announcement last night by relatives of Obermiller.
Final arrangements for the funeral are being delayed till the arrival in Jackson of a son, Theodore Obermiller, Jr., who will get in Jackson this afternoon. It is possible that the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon.
Services will be held at the Catholic Church in Jackson and burial will be in the city cemetery.
Obermiller had lived in Jackson and Cape County virtually all his life. He was born in Jackson. He was 69 years old. He had a wide circle of friends throughout the county. In addition to his occupation as a millwright and carpenter, he had worked as a harness maker in Jackson.
He had been employed as chief carter in making repairs in the mill at Burfordville and had been working there since Monday. He was employed by the Cape County Milling Company.
Mr. Obermiller was a son of the late Dr. and Mrs. A. Obermiller. He was married to Miss Louise Bosencoer more than 40 years ago. His wife and three children survive. The children are: Mrs. Wilson Snider of Edwardsville, Ill., Theodore Obermiller, Jr., of Oran, and Miss Dora Obermiller, who resides at the family home in Jackson.
The body was taken to Jackson yesterday afternoon. On account of bad wire connections between Jackson and Burfordville yesterday, members of his family could not be notified to reach his side before he died.
