Lora Elizabeth Pietrantozzi, 78, of Skyline Drive, Beckley died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, in a Roanoke, Va., care center following a short illness.

Born July 5, 1923, at Bluefield, Va., Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Posey Gillespie and Tillie Caldwell Gillespie McFarland.

Elizabeth spent her childhood in Bluefield, Va. A 50-year resident of Beckley, she and her late husband were the co-owners of the Starlite Motel.
She was of the Christian faith. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dandelo "Fats" Pietrantozzi, on Aug. 7, 2005; and an infant daughter, Valerie Faith.

The last survivor of her immediate family, she is survived by a stepbrother, Sherman McFarland, and two stepsisters, Onnie Carr and Mary Ellen Dodson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. David Trump officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
