Bob worked for the Jeffrey Mining and Manufacturing Company for over 30 years, and retired from The US Postal Service. He was a founding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and a dedicated usher for many years. Member of the Central Home Plate Club, Southeast Conservation Club, National Association of Letter Carriers Buckeye Branch 78 and the Swan Club. The original extreme couponer, by couponing he was able to donate several hundred boxes of cereal and canned food to the St. Frances Center in McAurthur, Ohio, The Grove City Food Bank and Mid-Ohio Food Bank. An avid sportsman he grew up playing all sports and loved to fish, loved to garden and care for his lawn. He is a true Buckeye.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Louise Wentzel, brothers Dick, Jim and Raymond.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Ursula Wentzel; daughters Judith Wentzel, Michelle Wentzel and Amy (Chuck) Relli; grandchildren Erica Galloway, Ashley Lowry; step granddaughter Mikayla Relli; and great granddaughter Carleigh Galloway; brothers Roy (Jean), Jack (Peter) and Joe (Leslie) Wentzel; sister Mary Teter.
Friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME 2697 Columbus St. Grove City. Mass will be held Thursday 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3710 Broadway, Grove City, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Millisor Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
