Raymond E. Padgett

Died September 6, 2013 at the age of 83. Raymond was born November 24, 1929 in Corning, N. Y. to Basil and Winifred (Swan) Padgett. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, retired from the State of Michigan Dept. of Management & Budget after 24 years and was a partner in R & R Collision of Lansing.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Edward Allen, former wife and mother of his sons, Lois A. Padgett; Caroline Morseman, Nancy Myers and Clifford Padgett, all three of Addison, New York. Surviving are his companion Margaret Zakrzewski; six sons James (Rosemary), Robert (Angela), David (Amy), Steven (Rachelle), Richard, and Russell (Tricia); thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Keith (Marilyn) Padgett and sister, Winifred (Thurman) Jones, both of Addison, New York.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing. The family will receive friends Monday, September 9th, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation , Michigan Chapter, 1050 Wilshire Dr., Ste. 302, Troy, MI 48084 in memory of Raymond.
