Esther I. (Ranck) Long, formerly of Fairless Hills, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Pickering Manor of Newtown, where she had been living for the past year. She was 89.

She was the wife of the late Charles E. Long.

Born in Port Royal, Pa., on April 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ross W. and Emma (Bowers) Ranck.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Long had been employed as a nurse with Lower Bucks Hospital.

She is survived by a son and daughter; her sister, Queen Treaster of Mifflintown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Long.
