Married Mary on Feb 2, 1680 in Topsfiled, MA.
In 1698 he moved from Topsfield to Framingham where he ws elected Slectman at the first town meeting.
In moved to Oxford in 1713 and was one of the original settlers. When the church was organized in 1721, he wqas made a Deacon, a position he held until he died.

In his will,
I give and bequeath all my household stuff and plonishings after my own and my wife's decease equally between my daughter Esther Mellins or her heirs and my grandaughter Mary Cloyes.
