Flora "Ruth" (Chatfield) Harper, 84, of Lafayette, passed away at St. Elizabeth East Hospital at 2:49 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013. Born May 28, 1929 in Frankfort, IN, she was the daughter of the late Drury and Nellie Chatfield.
She married Donald L. Harper on June 26, 1955 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1997. Ruth was a massage therapist. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Donna Chatfield of Lafayette, and nieces, Judy Benedict (husband, Richard) of Lafayette, Marilyn Barefoot (husband, Tom) of West Lafayette, Sonja Gotschal (husband, James) of Kokomo; and nephews, Michael Morris (wife, Debbie) and Larry Paul Chatfield; and nieces Connie, Brenda, Martha Jane and Kathy all of Florida. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Chatfield Morris, and two brothers, Paul and Howard L. Chatfield.
