Owego, NY - Elsie I. Valentine, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday January 22, 2013.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl M. Valentine.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Valerie Towers; her sisters, Clare Murphy and Phyllis Stille; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
Elsie was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 27, 1929, the daughter of Edward W. and Isobel (Sellen) Stille. She lived in Drexel Hill, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, until residing with her daughter Valerie for the last several years. While in Drexel Hill, she was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Elsie was a gifted artist and sculptor and was a nationally recognized blind artist. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful voice and loved to sing.
Elsie especially loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Abide in the Vine Fellowship in Owego.
A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY on Friday January 25, 2013, at 11:00am with Pastor Fred Hoover officiating.
Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery, Owego. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home on Thursday January 24, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
