Indian Mutiny Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Claremorris, Ireland, he served as a Private in the 2nd Battalion, 84th Regiment of Foot, British Army. On July 12, 1857, Private Mylott rushed across a road under heavy enemy fire to take an opposite enclosure during the relief of the garrison at Lucknow, India. For most prestigious gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Victoria Cross on December 24, 1858 and later achived the rank of Sergeant. He died at the age of 58 in Liverpool, England.
