Cecil Allen, 73
OCEANSIDE - Cecil B. Allen, 73, died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas.
Born Sept. 30, 1925, in Arizona, he lived in Oceanside for 35 years. He was a self-employed house painter and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Allen. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Allen of Oceanside; son Gregory Allen of Monterey; daughters, Sherry Chester of La Mesa; daughter-in-law Sylvia Allen of Oceanside; brothers Phil Allen, Paul Allen, J. Glen Allen, Bill Allen and Karl Allen; sister Beverly Miller; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, at El Camino Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for noon Saturday, July 10, also at El Camino Mortuary. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Garden of Honor at El Camino Memorial Park, with military detail.
The family suggests memorial donations to St. John the Theologian Orthodox Church, 28 Via Amor Rancho, Santa Margarita, CA 92688.
El Camino Mortuary is handling arrangements.
