Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 7, 1908, Brother Vincent McGinley OFM., entered the Franciscan Order in California in 1942, taking training at Mission San Luis Rey and Mission San Miguel. Taking his Vows as a lay brother San Luis Rey Mission on July 20, 1949, for a decade he served as refectorian both at St. Anthony's Seminary and the Old Mission of Santa Barbara. Brother Vincent passed unexpectedly away following a heart attack at a Long Beach hospital while visiting relatives in the area aged 57, on August 24, 1966. Rosary was recited at Sheelan Stricklin Mortuary, Long Beach, the next day at 8 pm., while funeral Mass was later held at the Old Mission of Santa Barbara, where interment also took place in the Cemetery Mausoleum.
