She was a young girl when her parents moved from Lewisburg, TN to Carter Co, OK sometime in the late 1890's & settled on a farm in Provence.

They were living in Bellflower, CA when Marion died on February 5, 1956. Five day later Clara died in their home. Family reports are that she was sitting in a rocker in the front room of the home where Marion had died 5 days before. Their children were preparing to return to Oklahoma where they lived, and now they would have to stay for the funeral of their mother.

Mrs. Clara Jennings, widow of Marion Jennings, former long-time constable here, died suddenly Friday morning in Bellflower, Calif., five days after her husband's death.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday in Bellflower. Burial there will be beside her husband.

She is survived by two sons, Edgar Jennings, 602 7th Ave. SE, and Bill Jennings, Central Point, Ore.; five daughters, Mrs. Bill Price and Mrs. Leo Woodrow, both of Ardmore; Mrs. Bill Dalton, Superior, Ariz.; Mrs. Ray Landman, Bellflower, and Mrs. Johnny Paparelli, Long Beach, Calif.

Also, three brothers, Carson Hawkins, Nederland, Texas; Dick Hawkins, Oklahoma City; Clifford Hawkins, Ardmore; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Flowers, Norman; Mrs. Ettie Eudy, Route 1, Ardmore; Mrs. Bessie Byrne, Ardmore and 18 grandchildren."
