Leon Sherman passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was born in Chicago on Aug. 2, 1926, to Gladys and Abraham Sherman. He is survived by his sister, Lenora; his son, Steven; and his daughter-in-law, Ruth Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers and his beloved wife, Renee.
He was a decorated World War II veteran who moved to Houston in 1978, where he worked many years as a security guard for the Houston Chronicle.
He was a resident of Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services since 2005, where he was a true friend to not only the residents, but to the entire staff as well.
Services were held at Emanu El Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Leon would want contributions in his honor to be made to either Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services or Jewish Family Service.
