Lucy Belle Maisenbacher, 79, of Springfield, passed away Friday Sept. 27, 2013 at Vibra Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, October 3, 1933 the daughter of Berton and Edna Bates Whitcomb.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father; stepfather, Frank Rodems; son, Ronald Maisenbacher; brothers, George (Alberta) Whitcomb, Clarence and Frank Whitcomb; sisters, Jeanne (Gordon) Oliver, Joan Banhart and Ethel Summers.

Lucy is survived by her husband, William (Gene) Maisenbacher; daughter, Judith Ann Moser;Son, Donald Wayne Maisenbacher; brother, Bob Johnson; sister, Clara (Thomas)Atkins; granddaughters, Heather (Mike) Briggs; grandsons, Sean (Cindy) Moser, Josh Moser and Ryan (Kassi) Maisenbacher; great- granddaughters, Gabrielle Briggs, Isabelle Moser, Hayly Moser and Addyson Maisenbacher; great-grandsons, Landon Maisenbacher, Brady Moser and Carter Briggs and beloved niece, Lauri Lewis.

Lucy graduated from Lanphier High School in 1952 and married Gene, August 30, 1952. She had been employed at Hawkeye Insurance Company. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and enjoyed spoiling them all. She liked sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, reading, walking and going to the Casinos. She was the rock and anchor of her family and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 PM Monday Sept. 30, 2013 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday Oct 1, 2013 with Rev. Dan Holland officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
