Francis (Frank) Strauss, age 63, of 1036 Hempton Lk Rd., Cato, died unexpectedly on Monday morning, March 22, 1999, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. John Conrad, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

He was born May 29, 1935, in Clarks Mills, Wis., son of the late Frank and Johanna Pieschl Strauss. He married the former Lorraine Holschbach, on June 9, 1956, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Frank was employed for over 25 years at the Fru-Con Construction Company until his retirement as a Safety Engineer in 1997. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #8 Milwaukee, a life member of Whitetails Unlimited. He was also a member of the Genealogy Society of Manitowoc County, NRA, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Stauss, Cato; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Mary Strauss, Timothy and Selina Strauss, all of Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Strauss, and her fiancé, Ronald L. (Ringo) Lasch, Two Rivers, Ann and Tom Dishinger, Lisa and Scott Schweigl, Manitowoc; his mother-in-law, Marcella Holschbach, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Chirstopher Strauss, Anthony Schweigl, Mallory Strauss, Jacob Schweigl, Brittany Strauss, Jonathon Dishinger, Andrew Dishinger; three step-grandchildren, Shelly, Kin & Lisa Zais; one step-great-grandson, Bailey Mueller; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Lucille Strauss, Ralph and Muriel Strauss, Sylvester (Rusty) and Shirley Strauss, all of Manitowoc; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rosalie and Dr. Jerry Dragovich, Washington, Viola Herbert, California, Shirley and Douglas Emond, Mishicot; a brother-n-law, Daniel Holschbach and his wife, Diane, Shawano; a sister-in-law, Gladys Kohl, Manitowoc, his is further survived by three sisters-in law, Theresa Strauss, Rosemary Strauss, and Geraldine Strauss; nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary; four brothers, LeRoy, Harold, William & Wilbert; one sister and two brothers-in-0law, Judith and Ronald Schaller, and Edward Herbert, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arnold Holschbach and one brother-in-law, Edward Holschbach.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday evening, and at the church Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.

Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved working on his flower beds and in his workshop. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all.
