Kenneth L. Surfus, 73, of 3114 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, Feb. 3.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffman will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Surfus was born Sept. 15, 1911, at Baileys Harbor, Wis., son of the late Louis and Mary Fax Surfus. He moved to Manitowoc as a child with his parents residing here since. He attended St. Boniface Parochial School and was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the Class of 1929. He married Lila Marie Kaminski, Oct. 16, 1935, at St. Mary Church, Manitowoc. Prior to retiring in 1977, he had been employed at Kelvinator Commercial Products Company and The Kaufman Manufacturing Company as an Engineer. He was active in Manitowoc Boy Scouting. Mr. Surfus served as Scout Master at St. Paul Parish for five years; he was an usher at St. Paul Parish and a member of St. Paul Athletic Association.

Survivors include his wife, Lila M.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Merle Surfus and Bill and Ellen Surfus both of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Terrence Kilroy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joanne and Clarence L. Suchy of Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, John of Sturgeon Bay, Donald, Paul and Mark all of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Gertrude) Lax, Miss Margaret Surfus, Miss Marion Surfus all of Manitowoc and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Smith of Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie in infancy.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock this Monday afternoon, where a prayer service will be 8 o’clock by Deacon William Klein.
