Betty Jane Hebert
Lake Arthur: The family and friends of Betty Jane Bergeron Hebert are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life while surrounded by her family on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the age of 79. Betty was born in Ritchie, LA to the late Phillipe and Esther Bergeron on June 12, 1935. Betty was a homemaker, she took great care of her family. She loved them all dearly. Betty was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She was the Girl Scout leader Of Lake Arthur for a number of years. Betty managed the Senior Citizen Center for four years and a representative of Limu company. Betty also sponsored many foreign exchange students over the years.
Betty Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Placide Joseph Hebert of Lake Arthur, LA; three sons, Randy (Cynthia Bryant) Hebert of Baker, LA, Kelly (Rhonda Breaux) Hebert of Gueydan, LA, Kenny Hebert of Lake Arthur, LA; one daughter, Ramona Jane (Leland) Boudreaux and family of Cypress Point, LA; her beautiful grandchildren, Jared, Derek, Kristian, Sarah, Blake, Cason, Halie; one brother, Gerald Philip Bergeron of Jennings, LA; two sisters, Marty Bergeron Dupuis and husband Al of Lafayette, LA & Virgilian Bergeron of Jennings, LA.
Betty Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Phillipe and Esther Lejeune Bergeron; three sisters, Sherrell Bergeron Trahan, Jenora Bergeron Hammons Clemens and Loretta Bergeron LaBouve; one half-brother, Lacy Joseph Bergeron.
A Mass of Christian burial honoring her life will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Wednesday, August 27th from 3:00 PM until 12:00 AM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM by the Catholic Daughters and the KC's. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday at 10:00 AM until the time of her funeral Mass.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Hebert, Kelly Hebert, Kenny Hebert, Jared Hebert, Derek Hebert and Kristian Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Hebert and Cason Hebert.
The family would like to give special Thanks to Jennings American Legion Hospital and Staff, Jeff Davis Living Center, Christus St. Patrick Hospice and M. D. Home Care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews & Son Funeral Home.
