Obit. Nathan Herbert THOMAS, son of Lewis and Maria Jane THOMAS, born near Canton, Ohio, July 22, 1867, and died in Ottumwa March 15, 1934, age 66-7-24. He came to Packwood when 15 years of age and has lived there ever since. July 22, 1892, he married Stella SHARPE; eight children, two died in infancy. Survived by wife and children: Mrs. Nina McEWEN of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Luella WOOLUMS of Packwood; Bruce THOMAS of Ottumwa; Lloyd THOMAS of Keosauqua; Mrs. Ila SCHMIDT of Ottumwa, and Gwendolyn THOMAS of Batavia. Two grandchildren, Billy Bruce and Hal Laverne THOMAS. Funeral was held at Packwood Christian Church Sunday. (From Marriage Record, his parents were Lewis THOMAS and Mary J. EVENS.)
