On June 16, 1920 he was united in marriage to Lucy Knoerl. Mr. Aune came to the Alexandria area in 1942 and he was with Sales and Service with Machine Dealers.
He passed away July 16, 1975 at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; three sons and one daughter: Donald of Jordan, Minnesota; Allan of Brainerd, Minnesota; Claire of Bismarck, North Dakota; Betty (Mrs. James Gabler) of Eagle Bend, Minnesota; also surviving are twenty two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers: Edna (Mrs. Julia Nelson) of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Ida (Mrs. Johnny Nelson) of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Clarence Aune of Elizabeth, Minnesota; Otto and Sidney of California. He was preceded in death by one son, Wallace, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were July 19, 1975 in the First Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minnesota. Rev. Philip Westby officiating. Interment was at Mounds Grove Cemetery, Evansville, Minn. Pallbearers were Daryl Bauer, Dale Hesse, Otto Martin, Clarence Gabler, Walter Lade, Donald Kortie.
