Dean "Dick" Brennan, (The Chief) age 83, of 1204 Fleetwood Drive, Manitowoc, died peacefully late Tuesday evening, October 8, 2013 at home with his loving family at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.Dean was born on April 20, 1930 in Valders, son of the late Owen and Cinderella (Breu) Brennan. He attended grade school at Clarks Mills and graduated from Valders High School, Class of 1948. On January 20, 1951 he married the former Virginia Binversie at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Dean & Virginia formed the business Dean Brennan Transport in 1952. Dean & Virginia enjoyed traveling with their motor home and all the friends they've made over the years. He enjoyed spending time at their cottage at English Lake, watching Packer games with his family and all holidays spent at home with his family. He enjoyed hunting with his sons which led to being a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited, among others, which included Pioneer Trucker of the Year, American Trucking Association, and was the recipient of many trucking honors throughout the years. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years: Virginia, Manitowoc; ten daughters and eight sons-in-law: Cinderella & Wayne Van De Hey, Cecil, Linda (Lyn) Hardtke, Manitowoc, Kathie & Bill O'Leary, Reedsville, Rose & Steve Vohwinkel, Manitowoc, Connie "Con" Sieracki and special friend Pedro, Manitowoc, Karen & Bobbie Minor, Kewaskum, Ann & Jerry Bieberitz, Valders, Sandy & Jerry Kelley, Plymouth, MN, Amy & Kurt Scharrer, Brillion, Tina & Mike Kratz, Manitowoc; three sons and three daughters-in-law: Gary "Buck" & Jackie Brennan, Manitowoc, Brian & Jackie Brennan, Valders, Mark "Goob" & Kim Brennan, Manitowoc; grandchildren include: Jeff (Jill) Gosz, Illinois, James Gosz, Appleton, Jenna Sieracki, Manitowoc, Ryan O'Leary, Brillion, Jen (Seth) Schneider, Collins, Eric (Marlie) Vohwinkel, North Carolina, Jesse Vohwinkel, Green Bay, Matt (Olivia) Vohwinkel, Ohio, Jerrod (Katie) Bieberitz, Derrick (Courtney) Bieberitz, all of Valders, Kim (Matt) Strother, Manitowoc, Brooke, Jamie, April and Anthony "Big Guy" Hardtke, Manitowoc, Branigan (Katie) Brennan, Manitowoc, McKenzie Brennan & fiancé Sheldon, DePere, Jacob Brennan, Brittany Stankey, Brandon, Thomasina, Jeremiah, Isaac, Micah, Sholah & Phoebe Minor, Kewaskum, Ashley & Matthew Scharrer, Milwaukee, Samantha & Ben Scharrer, Brillion, Kyrsten (Derek) Johnson, South Dakota, Michael Kelley, Minnesota, Brianna Brennan, Georgia, Alyssa & Brandon Brennan, Valders, Jordan & Lindsey Brennan , Travis & Austin Kratz, all of Manitowoc; and great grandchildren include: Evan & Caden Gosz, Illinois, Olivia Hill, Manitowoc, Braxton Gosz, Oshkosh, Makenna, Alexa & Trentin Bieberitz, Valders, Jacob Vohwinkel, Ohio, Adam Johnson, South Dakota and Ava Brennan, Manitowoc.Dean is further survived by a brother: John (Jack) Brennan; six sisters and three brothers-in-law: Sue Kostalic, Carol (Darwin) Koerth, Peggy (Loren) Johnson, Edith Hood, Dorothy Suttles, Joan (Gary) Lembke; sisters-in-law: Kandy Brennan, Roseann Brennan, Elaine Brennan, Corrine Brennan, Kathleen Brennan, Joan Brennan, Irene (James) Ziegelbauer, Janet Seichter, Fay Binversie; and brothers-in-law: Robert Binversie and Stanley (Kay) Binversie. Many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his step mother: Edith Brennan; a son: Todd Brennan; a grandson: Alex; a son-in-law: Andy Hardtke; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Henry & Elizabeth Binversie; nine brothers: James, Michael, Howard, Thomas, William, Bernard, Clifford, Raymond & Dale (Chris) Brennan; four brothers-in-law: Herman (Florence) Binversie, Eugene Binversie, Gordon Seichter, Roman Binversie; and three sisters-in-law: Delores (Lester) Klingeisen, Leona (George) Ziegelbauer and Janet Binversie. entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
