Obituary:

In memory of Elaine Akins. Our mother's home going. Born Feb. 16, 1931, Elaine Akins died April 14, 2001. Elaine retired to the High Desert area in Phelan eight years ago. Prior to that she lived in the West Covina area for 30 years. She will be walking in heaven with her husband John Akins; father Lonnie Houston; mother Eunice Houston; and sister Lucy Perkins. She is survived by her daughter Susan Argenio of Phelan; son Glenn Robinette of Newport, Tenn.; daughter-in-law Terry Robinette of Newport, Tenn.; grandchildren Daniel and Nicholas Argenio; and sisters Carolyn Hermes of Texas and Esther Beeman of Florida. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Chapel, 15081 Center St. in Victorville. The Rev. Paul Smith will be officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be sent to the Schleroderma Foundation, 12 Kent Way, Suite 101, Byfield, MA 01922.
