MAN KILLED IN A FALL INTO QUARRY
George Keller of Rockwood Found Dead At Bottom of Quarry (photo)George Keller, 56, was found dead at the bottom of a quarry at Rockwood late yesterday afternoon a short distance from home.Keller died of a skull fracture authorities said, suffered in a fall of over 25 feet, Sheriff Elmer ???? said. Keller evidently left his home shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday night to go to Rockwood and fell off the edge of the quarry.
Joseph K?????, superintendent of the Rockwell Lime Company reported the discovery of Keller's body yesterday afternoon. Dr. Theodore Teitgen,county coroner, said there would be no inquest.Mr. Keller, employed at Rockwood 17 years was born in Germany in 18?? he married Miss Margaret Wa??, and in 1925 the family moved to Rockwood where Mr. Keller took a job in the quarry of the Rockwell Lime Company.Mrs. Keller died in 1928. Since then Mr. Keller lived in a flat near the quarry, with a son, Rudolph, occupying an adjoining flat.Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Roger Jackson of this city, three sons,Richard and Oswald of this city. Rudolph of Rockwood; three sisters,Sister Gonzaga of West Bend, and two sisters in Germany.Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 10 o'clock from the St. Ann church at Francis Creek,the Rev.
