Actress. She enjoyed a successful career on television, as she appeared in scores of episodes from numerous popular TV programs during the 1950s through the 1970s. She will perhaps be best remembered by television audiences for playing William Shatner's flying companion in the 1963 episode of "The Twilight Zone" titled "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". Born Christine Lamson White, she attended Penn Hall Junior College in Pennsylvania, prior to majoring in English at the University of North Carolina. It was during this period, when she took an interest in acting and went onto participate in school stage productions. She furthered her skills, when she attained a degree in Speech and Drama from Catholic University in her native Washington, DC. After moving to New York, she met and became friends with the iconic actor James Dean. The pair gained entry into the Actor's Studio after performing a successful audition. Her break in entertainment came, when she began to appear on live episodes from several early series. Additionally, she launched her Hollywood career with a minor role in the film "Vice Squad" (1953). In 1952, she made her Broadway debut with the production "The Long Watch" and had a more substantial role in the drama "A Hatful of Rain" (1955 to 1956). In 1961, she first appeared on "The Twilight Zone" in an episode titled "The Prime Mover" and had a featured part playing Abigail Adams in the series "Ichabod and Me" (1961 to 1962). Among her other credits include "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Bonanza" and "The Fugitive". She retired from the industry during the mid-1970s. (bio by: C.S.)
