She graduated from Grand Saline High School and Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She livedin Grand Saline until 1975 when she moved to Friendswood. She was a music teacher, housewife, and a member of the Friendswood United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband A.D. McPhail.
Survivors include a daughter Penny Cleveland, Friendswood and two grandsons. Pallbearers include John Cleveland Jr, Stephen Cleveland,Robert R. Davidson, Ted Sullins, Robert M. Davidson and Harry Clifford, III.
