Marian was born September 6, 1925, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late Elmer and Irene (Rusch) Evenson. She married Hubert Haupt on January 9, 1946, in Manitowoc County. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1995.
Marian and her husband owned and operated a veal business for many years until 1995 when it was taken over by their son. She also worked at the Manitowoc Eye Clinic for many years as a Medical Assistant. Marian was actively involved in the Women's Circle at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc along with the Altar Guild and the choir. She was also a member of the Manitowoc Musician's Auxiliary and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include one son: Reginald Haupt, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Ryan Haupt; Dana Haupt (Fiancé Eric Maki), all of Valders; one great grandson: Dakota; one sister and brother-in-law: Beverly and Robert Schwister, Ripon; one sister-in-law: Vera Lierman, Manitowoc. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides her husband Hubert, Marian was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers-in-law: Inez and Les Matejovetz, Clare and Walter Kinzel, Violet and Edwin Burns, Salome and Robert Haupt; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Ruth and Darryl Sanger, Helmuth Lierman, Verlin and Ethel Rusch.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. Roald Harswick with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Tn. of Kussuth, at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
