There passed away at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, Dec. 30, Brenton Cecil, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mulock, of Upper LaHave at the age of five years and five months. The tragic accident which claimed his life cast a gloom over the whole community. He was anxiously awaiting the opening of school after the Christmas holidays, where he will be sadly missed by his little playmates. Death came five hours after being admitted to the hospital with head injuries received when he was struck by a car while coasting near his home. He was rushed to the hospital immediately, where every effort was made to save his life, but he failed to regain consciousness. Besides his sorrowing parents, he leaves to mourn their loss, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Mulock of this place, and Mrs. John Rhodenizer, of Conquerall Bank. The funeral service, which was largely attended was held at his home, Thursday, Jan. 1 and was conducted by Rev. C.H. Whitteker, assisted by Rev. Mr. Copeland. Interment was in the family lot in St. Matthews cemetery, Upper LaHave. Pallbearers were Edward Mulock, Warren Meisner, Norman Mulock and Ronnie Beck. (hand written on obituary - 1947)
