Clara was employed by the Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center (near Los Angeles) for 30 years and at the time of her retirement (in the late 1950's) was the Director of Nursing. She traveled to 97 countries, visiting hospitals and missions and speaking before nursing groups to teach and compare. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Downey (California), Santa Gertrudes Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Downey Historical Society, Downey Federated Republican Womens' Club and a life member of Women in Government.
Clara will be remembered as a gifted genealogist from Hamilton County Illinois, who was always willing to share with another newfound cousin. She and her sister wrote the book HUNTING THE HUNTS.
Services and interment were held 8 Nov 2000 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.
