She was a member of First Baptist Church of Downey (California), Santa Gertrudes Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Downey Historical Society, Downey Federated Republican Womens' Club and a life member of Women in Government.
Clara will be remembered as a gifted genealogist from Hamilton County Illinois, who was always willing to share with another newfound cousin. She and her sister wrote the book HUNTING THE HUNTS.
