Odis Roger 'Poncho' Sanderson, 62, of Leighton, Ala., died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005. Mr. Sanderson was a Colbert County native and a member of New Sockwell Baptist Church. He was a member of Pipefitters Local No. 377
He and was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Richard and Dorothy Ables Sanderson; and brothers, Gregory Joe Sanderson, Terry Sanderson and Bruce Sanderson.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Sanderson, of Leighton; sons, Buzz Sanderson and wife, Sonya, of Iuka, Miss., Ronnie Hughes and wife, Melinda, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Tarb Hughes, of Leighton; daughter, Tracy Livermore and husband, George, of Sikeston, Mo.; brothers, Donald Wayne Sanderson, of Iuka, Gary Sanderson, of Sheffield; sisters, Charlotte Brown, of Sheffield, Beverly Mitchell, of Florence; grandchildren, Sid Hughes, Marissa Hughes, Paisleigh Sanderson, Dalton Hughes, Luke Sanderson, Eli Sanderson and Lila Grace Sanderson.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Morrison Funeral Home, of Cherokee. His funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Brother Allen Slusher will officiate, and burial will be in Barton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
