Mrs Ivie C James passed away on Monday, March 5, 1979 at 7:15 am in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was 91 years old.
She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and had been a resident of Corpus Christi for 58 years. She was the wife of the late Sam James and was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, C.W. James of Portland and W.G. James, Sr of Houston; four daughters, Mrs E.V. Ashabranner of Houston, Mrs Dorothy N Harlow, Mrs Kyle S Budd, and Mrs Nancy Wells, all of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Mrs J.B. Mullins, Lampasas, Texas, Mrs Lynn R Kirkaldy, Corpus Christi; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 7th at the Cage-Mills Everhart Chapel with Dr Gene McComb of the Second Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Seaside Memorial Park.
