Felipe was born, the second child of what would eventually become twelve children born to Alfredo and Rose Estevez. For the first two years of his life he and his family resided in Pasadena, California and in 1954 they settled into their family home in Hacienda Heights, where his parents remain to this day.

He was a Childhood Friend of mind, in Elementary, Jr. High & High School & we worked in at Barro's Pizza in 1969~1970 In Hacienda Heights, CA

From Felipe's earliest days he was always thought of as a "clown" and he was never one to shy from mischief either. One day Felipe and his younger brother Steve were sent to the market and instead of coming back with groceries they showed up with pictures of each of them riding a pony. Needless to say, Rose was less than pleased. During Spirit week while Felipe was in high school he broke his foot for the first time when he and his older brother Alfred were jumping fences while trying to make a hasty get away from their rival school, Workman High. This sense of misadventure followed him into short-lived career as an amateur train jumper with his fellow cohort Roy Stilly. However, being that he was one of the oldest siblings he was always thought of as the "peacemaker". He taught his younger brothers and sisters how to ride their bikes. He walked his younger siblings to and from school. He loved all his siblings and he was adored by his sisters and shadowed by his younger brothers.
From as young as the 7th grade, Felipe was working. He moved up from a bus boy to a pizza maker when be worked at Barro's Pizza. Felipe's passion was realized in 1973 when he became a Policeman for the Los Angeles Police Department. He quickly moved up the ranks from police officer to detective and eventually when he retired in 1993, Sergeant. He loved being a Policeman. When he retired he had a series of odd jobs to pass the time. One was a salesman for Rose Hills where he quickly sold his sisters some "land" and as car salesman for Ostrom Chevrolet where his position was brief due to his love for Ford. Nevertheless no job would ever mean as much to him though as when he was a "cop".
In 1974 Felipe was married to his first wife Joan. His first son Richard was born shortly thereafter-in 1975. Jennifer promptly followed in 1977 and Timothy in 1979. In 1993 Felipe was remarried to Maria and it wasn't until 1994 that his fourth child Irene was born. Felipe loved his children and would be the best "room father" or "coach" his kids could ever ask for. He was very proud and honored when both of his sons followed in his footsteps and became LAPD Officers as well.
Felipe and Maria loved each other passionately and unconditionally. He would shower her with flowers and jewelry and she would shower him with all her love and devotion. She never left his side throughout his battle even when he was being "difficult". She loved him and he loved her fully and completely.
In June of 2009 Felipe was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. Initially his prognosis was bleak but in August of 2009 he was admitted into City of Hope where he received the best care he could have asked for and where his family was lucky enough to have received another year with him.
On August 17, 2010 at 9:15pm Felipe lost his battle and he passed away quietly with his wife and children by his side. His wife, four children, eight grandchildren, parents and brothers and sisters survive him.
There are no words to express the loss of Felipe. He was very much loved by so many and he will be missed terribly by all who knew and cared for him .... God Bless You, Forever
