Ex-Sandy Hook Pilot
David L. Beinert Sr. of Wildwood Crest, N.J., an Islanders until eight years ago, died Monday in his home. He was 68.
Born in Stapleton, Mr. Beinert was a pilot for the Sandy Hook Pilots Association for 33 years until his retirement eight years ago. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Coast Guard during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; a son, David L. Jr., of Cresskill, N.J., a daughter, Mrs. Janice R. Gladson of Cambridge. Minn.; a sister, Miss Celia Beinert of Pass-a-Grille, Fla., a brother, Gustave, of Ossining, N.Y., and seven grandchildren.
A service will take place tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. in the Van Emburg Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood, N.J. Burial will be Friday in Moravian
Cemetery, New Dorp.
