Military Service: CSA, rank in Captain, AQM. He was assigned to Union City in 1861. Due to his wife poor health and because they had so many young children he wrote to Gen. Polk in Dec. 1861 asking to be transferred to Memphis. In May 1862 he tendered his resignation to Maj E.E. McLean, effective June 1 1862.
