Funeral services for Clifford Elmer (Jack) Hargrove, 69, native of Giles County, were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at Central Park Methodist Church (Birmingham, Ala.), with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in that city. Mr. Hargrove died Sunday morning, April 8, at his Birmingham home after a long illness.
Born July 14, 1892, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Sam W. Hargrove and Mary Kelly Hargrove.
Mr. Hargrove, a retired employee of Debardeladen Coal Company after twenty-five years employment, was a member of the Methodist Church, the Civitan Club, the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge in Birmingham.
Mr. Hargrove is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Hayes Hargrove, former resident of Columbia, Tenn.; one son, Jack Hayes Hargrove, and four grandchildren, all of Birmingham; four brothers, John Hargrove, Birmingham, Pat Hargrove, Athens, Ala., J. P. Hargrove, Montgomery, Ala., and Otey Hargrove, Pulaski; and two sisters, Miss Mina Hargrove and Mrs. C. N. Bates, both of Pulaski.
