Derrell Leon Hicks, 69 of Jefferson, Texas passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Vivian, LA. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA, officiated by Reverend Wayne Shew. There will be a time of visitation Thursday October 31, 2013 from 3-6 pm at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home.
Derrell was born March 18, 1944 in Webster Parish to Derrell and Clairene Hicks. He lived in this area most of his life and was a member of Gray Baptist Church. Derrell was in the army and served our country in the Vietnam War. He was a plumber in Shreveport and a logger for B.C. Wood Logging.
Derrell was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Sally Hicks. He is survived by his wife Tina Hicks of Gray, TX, his children Vicki Santos and Diffey Hicks Jones, his brother David Wayne Hicks, and nieces and nephews.
