Musician. He was the bass guitar player and leader of the Southern progressive rock group, The Marshall Tucker Band. In 1972, with his brother, guitar player Toy, he formed the band, which was signed by Capricorn Records. The group made several gold records, with hits such as "Fire on the Mountain," "Can't You See," "Heard It In a Love Song," "Take the Highway," and "Desert Skies."
