VERNON, Ala., -- Clara "Kate" Locke, 80, died Sept. 18, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services are today at 1 p.m., at Chandler Funeral Home with minister Tim Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon City Cemetery. Mrs. Locke was born April 18, 1929, to the late Roy Neal Jones Sr. and Minnie Taylor Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Marshell Conner. She is survived by her husband, Roy Locke of Vernon; son, Lynn Conner of Vernon; stepdaughter, Julia Uranga of San Antonio, Texas; stepsons, Roger Locke and Michael Locke of Ripley; and one grandchild.
