James Allen Fackrell, 96, passed away at his home in Prescott, Ariz., on Oct. 28, 2013. He was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Park City, Utah, to James and Mary (McBride) Fackrell.

James attended high school in Huntington Park, Calif., and later worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and Pennzoil until his retirement in 1980. He loved woodworking and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

James was the most wonderful husband and father a family could ever have. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives.

James is survived by his wife of 72 years, Arlene; children Claudia (Joe), Carol (Jack), Cathy (Tom) and Curt (Amy); 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother Lyle; and sister Letha.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cliff, Bill and Bernard, and two sisters, Vera and Detta.

There was a private family service for James. Burial will be on Nov. 1, 2013, at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif. Donations in James' name can be made to Granite Mountain Hospice or Good Samaritan Society.

Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
