Obituary, published April, 1941:

Willard L. Hathaway of 5441 Kenwood avenue, beloved husband of Lura Grace Hathaway, fond father of Mrs. George Ray Edwards, Laroy Hathaway and Mrs. Bert Tenfelde, brother of Leon, Services Monday, 2 p.m., at chapel, 5203 Lake Park avenue. Interment Oak Woods, Hyde Park 0014

Note from Darrell Brown:

On December 24, 1892, Willard was married to Lura Grace Potter, reportedly in Ash Township, Monroe County, Michigan. They made their residence in Detroit. According to the Detroit city directories 1893-1905, Willard made organs and pianos for a living. Around 1906 they moved to Chicago, where Willard worked as a cabinet maker. Their single daughter Mildred lived with them and worked as a bookkeeper. Presumably she was a source of support in Willard's retirement years. She was married in 1940, at the age of 43, to George Edwards. A year later Willard passed away.

They had four children. Three are in the links below. Their fourth child was Edna Rae Hathaway, born August 16, 1916, in Chicago. She was married to Hubert "Bert" Tenfelde on June 13, 1936, and died June 27, 1944.
