Rev. John Nelson Brown was the son of Jesse and Roxanna (Grant) Brown. He was the husband of Eliza Ann (Graham) Brown. They were married August 5, 1843. Eliza died May 21, 1914. Rev. Brown was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1841 F 1843 East Genesee Conference at organization 1848 Genesee Conference by change of boundaries 1872 East Genesee Conference by transfer and to Genesee Conference by consolidation 1876. He served as the regimental Chaplin of the 111th New York Infantry during the Civil War.
