John Davies Passes Away After Illness

John D. Davies, 69, of Butlerville, died Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Veterans hospital, in Lafayette. He had been ill the last several weeks. Born Dec. 17, 1893, in Llanelly, England, he was the son of Hugh M. and Elizabeth Daniels Davies. He was a former tin mill worker in Elwood. His wife, Sylvania, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Baptist church in North Vernon and a veteran of World War I. Survivors Include two daughters, Mrs. Frances Deal of Norwood, Pa., and Miss Alice Davies of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Whittinghill of Indianapolis; a brother, Ivor Davies, route 4, Tipton. The body is at the Gopher and Fesler funeral home where friends may call anytime. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Gopher's. Rev. Milan Johnson, the pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. Burial will be made in the Elwood City cemetery.

Funeral Today For John Davies

Funeral rites for John Davies, 69, Butlerville, were held this afternoon at the Copher and Fesler funeral home. Rev. Milan Johnson pastor of the First Baptist church officiated. Burial was made in the Elwood City cemetery. Davies died Sunday in the Veterans hospital at Lafayette.
