Garner - Carol Bailey of Waterloo who was crowned Miss Iowa at the beauty contest at the state fair Monday is the daughter of former residents of Hancock county.
Her mother was the former Sylvia Sage who grew up here and the daughter of W. Sage [sic], publisher of the old Garner Democrat. Her father, O. S. Bailey, was connected with the Britt Tribune at Britt. They moved to Waterloo from Britt about 20 years ago.
